Why do I want to be a teacher?

Dead Poets Society, Freedom Writers, and Dangerous Minds! These are my favorite movies that strongly effected me. There is a common element in that all those movies are based on real stories and show special relationship between a teacher and students. All the while I was watching the movies, I thought there is no other job except a teacher who has a powerful influence on human beings. I was so impressed and touched even though I was not a teacher at that time. I promised myself to be an important and meaningful person who has influence on someone’s life, sometimes gives a turning point or stepping stone of those who I’ll meet in the future. Now, I decided to walk along the way they lived in those movies as a teacher. I’m not sure if I would be that kind of a great teacher, but I'll trying to make an effort to follow them by learning and finding some qualities a teacher should have.

  1. I haven't seen Dangerous Minds, but I loove the other two.

Here is a list of some more if you're interested (I'm a teacher candidate too and I watch these for inspiration):
    Stand and Deliver
    Lean On Me
    The Great Debaters
    Mona Lisa Smile

    Good luck with everything!
